Women's Right to Vote

Today is the 91st anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women nationwide the right to vote. The constitutional change was enacted on Aug. 18, 1920, when Tennessee became the 36th state to approve the amendment. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, women gradually won the right to vote in local and state elections. The 19th Amendment assured that the right was universal. - As reported in the Look Back section of the Bergen Record - 8/19/11.

I did not know that Tennessee was instrumental in seeing this law come to fruition. To all the ladies out there, VOTE!!! It is our constitutional right to do so and women have been doing just that since 1920. 91 years my friends.

Dog days of summer!

I love the summer, I love relaxing by my pool, going down the shore, the extended daylight hours... I do not like the humidity and today there is none! Open those windows, turn off the a/c and breathe. A beautiful morning, remember the song from musical Oklahoma!, oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day, I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's going my way.

This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad!

Enjoy the lazy days of summer, I know I will.
